Christmas Sugar Cookies

Preheat oven 400 Bake 375 convection
Yield: about 2 dozen

Ingredients:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, unsalted
1 cup sugar, dark brown
1/2 cup Jo Snow Christmas In A Cup Syrup
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs, large
1 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt, Kosher
2 1/2 cups flour, all purpose

1/4 cup sugar, white
1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method:

1. Using an electric mixer with a paddle attachment, cream the butter until light and fluffy about 3 minutes. Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl with a rubber spatula. Cream butter for an additional minute.


2. Add the brown sugar, the Jo Snow Christmas In A Cup Syrup and vanilla to the butter and cream until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
3. Add one egg at a time beating well after each addition.
4. In a medium bowl combine cream of tartar, baking soda, salt, and flour.
5. Stir in this flour mixture into the butter mixture until combined. 6. Scrape the sides and bottom of the bowl with the rubber spatula and mix for 30 seconds more.
7. Using a 1 Tablespoon cookie scoop, scoop dough onto a parchment or Silpat lined cookie sheet.
8. Mix the sugar and cinnamon together.
9. Sprinkle dough with the cinnamon sugar.
10. Bake at 400 bake or 375 convection for 10 minutes until set.
11. Remove from oven allow to set for 5 minutes and transfer to a wire cooling rack.
