Fig It!

A mint Julep is made with the best Bourbon you have, fresh mint, mint simple syrup and ice. This recipes was adapted from The Courier Journal Cookbook- Elaine Corn, 1984

Ingredients:

Simple Syrup:
1 cup sugar
2 cups water
fresh mint

Party Mix:
2 cups Buffalo Trace Bourbon
1/2 cup simple syrup

Garnish:
Fresh Mint
Ice

Method:

Simple Syrup:
1.Bring the sugar and water to a boil add a large handful of fresh mint, allow to chill and steep over night.

2.Strain in the morning.
3. Keep the simple syrup cold, a mint Julep is best very cold.

The drink:
1. Mix the Bourbon and simple syrup together.
2. Pour the mixture over a tall glass filled with ice.
3.Garnish the glass with at least 3 springs of mint.
Part of the beauty of the drink is smelling the mint as you drink it.
